Plum Tree Cottage is in an idyllic location, rural but near to the local village, major towns, Mont Saint Michel, water & floral parks.
It is comfortably furnished and has the added advantage of a heated pool and over 2 acres of secure gardens.

Plum Tree is one of four cottages at La Basse Rouerie.
The ground floor is open plan with a lounge/ kitchen/dining area, ideal for holidays as no one gets left out.
The kitchen area has a full size gas cooker, fridge, washing machine and a microwave. A back door leads to the covered veranda and the pool area.
The living / dining area has a stone and oak fireplace with a wood burner. There are some feature granite walls, exposed oak beams and a country style suite seating four. There is a CTV, DVD player, a Hifi, books & games.
The dining area has seating for four.

Bedroom 1: A large double bedroom with views over the front garden and fields. There are granite walls exposed oak beams and heating for the cooler months
Bedroom 2: A bedroom with adult size bunk beds. There are granite walls exposed oak beams and heating for the cooler months
Shower room: With shower, toilet and sink, a heated towel rail, granite walls and exposed oak beams.

There is a private patio area with garden furniture, sun canopy and a BBQ.

Whilst we consider our accommodation to be child friendly, good parental supervision should be shown at all times.

There are two and a half acres of safe gardens with views over farmland.
The communal patio area has a brick BBQ, the ideal place for parents to get to know one another, while the children play.
We have had many an enjoyable evening with a BBQ and a few drinks.
The heated above ground pool is made of teak to fit in with the surroundings in the orchard. The pool is open from May - September.
The gardens are the ideal place to relax by the pool, have a picnic under a tree, or just sit and read a good book while drinking a glass a wine.
There is a 14ft trampoline with safety nets, badminton, swings, boules, swing ball, football net, and basketball in the gardens, along with numerous games. In the covered veranda there is table soccer, table tennis and a darts board. The gardens are large and safe enough for children to play.
Down the lane there is an 18 km Patrimoine walk through lovely countryside.

La Basse Rouerie is located in a small village called Mellé, which is situated on the Brittany/ Normandy borders. Here you can spend days on the magnificent beaches known as the Emerald coast, visit walled towns or just walk through the lovely countryside, something for everyone.
We are about an hours drive from the port of St Malo; this is also an excellent place to visit, with a walled town and miles of sandy beaches.
Within half an hours drive you have Mont Saint Michel the 2nd most visited place in France after the Eiffel Tower. Half an hour’s drive will take you to the walled town of Fougeres with its chateau, and sandy beach in the forest. St Hilaire a lively market town and Mortain known for its water falls.
The large towns of Rennes, Dinan and Domfront are also worth a visit.

Mellé is also only 10 mins away from the American War Cemetery at St. James, the water park at St Martin de Landelles and trout fishing in St Georges du Rentembault.
So whatever the family want to do on holiday you will find it here, energetic or relaxing you choose it’s your holiday.
